Our cabin is located in Shingletown CA, about 45 miles east of Redding and 15 minutes west of Lassen National Park. Redding offers several shopping opportunities, including a great scrapbook store (Scraps of Life) as well as 529 acres of parkland within city limits, including the magnificent Sacramento River Trail System. Turtle Bay Exploration Park includes a museum, arboretum and walking trails as well as the historic Sundial Bridge. Redding is surrounded by pristine lakes, wild and scenic rivers, spectacular mountain peaks, State and National parks, massive wilderness areas, caverns and caves to explore.
The cabin is within walking distance of a creek and Lake McCumber which offers a great place for an afternoon walk or picnic. Just west of the cabin is Lassen National Forest. The Lassen National Forest lies at the heart of one of the most fascinating areas of California, called the Crossroads. Here the granite of the Sierra Nevada, the lava of the Cascades and the Modoc Plateau, and the sagebrush of the Great Basin meet and blend.
